So what did we learn today?
- I lost 2.5 lbs since my last appointment
- Baby is doing great, doc says he/she sounds strong and healthy. Yay!
- We got to listen to the baby's heartbeat
- It's time to make my 18 week ultrasound appointment
- I gotta go to the "Triple Testing" which is some routine test for 3 things, one of them being Down Syndrome
- I have to pick a hospital so the doc can refer me to a Gyno (I'm thinking Royal Alex downtown, their Women's Health Centre is famous for their top-of-the-line baby intensive care)
I have no pictures from today but if we can ever figure out how to transfer an iPhone voice memo file onto the pc, I will post the baby's heart beat!
I guess that's all for today. I put all my dates in my phone calendar, hopefully I will remember to book/do everything when it has to be done. The doc was very specific about what needs to be done when, and normally I would be all over this, but my organizational (and general thinking) skills are non-existent nowadays. At least I found out today that a little nausea is good, it means my hormone levels are high... Good! :)
That's awesome that you got to hear the heartbeat! Fun! All the exciting stuff is coming up for you. And get ready to be giving away a ton of your blood. I felt like a permanent blood donor throughout my pregnancy. They're constantly poking you to test for this or that. Ugh! But then once the baby's born no one cares about you anymore and they start poking the baby non-stop :).
ReplyDeleteI'm actually getting way better at NOT freaking out when someone comes near me with a needle! That's definitely a positive byproduct of my pregnancy! I guess when it starts happening all the time, you just give up and accept it... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm more worried about them poking the baby in the future! I would imagine it's really hard to watch as they torture your child... :(
